Check the "comments" section below for some suggested ideas for using funds. And feel free to post some of your own comments as well.

P.S. Here are a few ideas for how you could spend some additional funds--these are just food for thought, of course--please submit any ideas you'd like to!

1. expand an activity that is already on your implementation plan
2. buy ad space in your local newspaper
3. buy promotional materials for problem gamblng awareness: pins, waterbottles, etc.
4. pay for staff to attend a conference
5. sponsor a community team or event
6. hire a communications consultant or media specialist to assess at your media/outreach/publicity materials and/or develop an outreach plan for you
7. buy prizes for the OPGAW youth artwork contest
8. have a portable, changeable display made professionally--something to take to meetings and conferences to educate about problem gambling; have content for several different themes prepared (youth, workplace, parents, school...etc)
9. buy your own set of videos, books curricula, etc....we can provide ordering info
10. pay your local radio or tv station(s) to develop a feature on problem gambling
11. hire a facilitator to conduct a fprofessionally run focus group or groups involving members of target audiences you are trying to reach
12. hire someone to jazz up and/or create powerpoint presentations on problem gambling
13. offer funds for a theatre group to develop short skits or shows with a problem gambling theme

Wow! A lot of ideas! Thanks, Wendy.

How about training for local substance abuse/related community coalition members in problem gambling?

Providing incentives to college students interested in participating in a survey of gambling behavior?
